Platt Park
Platt Park is quickly becoming a favorite spot for young professionals. It's got that “downtown” vibe without the crazy traffic – think tree-lined streets, plenty of cool restaurants, bars, and shops. Whether you're grabbing sushi at Sushi Den, sipping coffee at Stella’s, indulging in ice cream at Sweet Cow, or hanging out in the park itself (which has playgrounds, basketball courts, and even a little library), this neighborhood has everything you need.
The area’s main street, South Pearl, is where it all happens. It’s got some of the best people and dog-watching in Denver, and during spring, summer, and fall, it turns into a weekly Farmer’s Market that spans over five city blocks. You'll find fresh produce, local goods, and tons of food options to choose from.
If you’re into antiques, the “Antique Row” on South Broadway is a must-see. Old industrial buildings have been transformed into shops and businesses, with places like Watson & Co and The Annex offering curated vintage pieces. South Pearl Street also hosts neighborhood events like Oktoberfest in the fall and Winterfest in December, making it a fun spot year-round for locals.
As for the homes, Platt Park has an eclectic mix of architecture, from cute little bungalows to more upscale properties. There are plenty of historic houses built in the early 1900s, including rows of Victorian homes with colorful fish-scale shingles and Spanish Revivals with terracotta roofs. You'll also spot Denver Squares and Craftsman-style bungalows. And, of course, there are some sleek modern homes popping up too. Prices here range from about $400K for a small condo to over $2 million for a brand-new, spacious home. Most homes tend to sell between $800K and $1 million and don’t last long on the market – usually about two weeks! And here’s the cutest thing you’ll ever hear: Platt Park is home to fairy houses. Yep, you read that right. Google it – you’ll thank me later!
